For this assignment, we had to draw a house, put it into the right perspective, and then paint it. I liked this project because of the imagination you could put into your painting. Right when I was given this project I knew I wanted to do a flying house, but what is better than a flying house in space! I loved painting the moon or austronaut best. The painting turned out ok but the detail and perspective could have been better. Overall, it was a fun project that got your mind working which was the best part! :)

Skateboard #1
For this project we had to make an abstrct design on the back of a skateboard. We didn't actually use skateboards, but instead used peices of paper cut out into its shape. This is my second skateboard I did for extra credit because my first one was put into an art show. Although I like the first one better, I love the different colors and shapes in this one. You could portray this design in many different ways which is what makes it unique. I loved doing this project! It is definatly my favorite project yet! :)

Portrait #2
For this second project, we had to draw a front portrait. We used the same grid technique as the last project which allowed us to put the picture into proportion when we drew it. This drawing was a little more difficult than the last because of the more detail and complexity of the front profile. The nose and lips were the most difficult part for me because I could never get the shapes right. I added darker shadows and more detail into this picture. As you can see in the picture, isn't not the best artwork but I feel I have progressed a little from the last picture. :)
Portrait #1
For this picture, we worked on drawing side portraits of any person we would like. I searched the internet and found a picture of this woman. I wanted to draw her because of her great bone structure of her cheeks, creating interesting shadows to shade in. We used a grid technique that allowed us to draw the picture from the original version onto a much larger canvas, in the right proportion. Because the picture had such powerful shadows, I had trouble drawing them in dark enough. I was always afraid of making them to dark but now I realize it would have transformed this drawing. Even though this wasn't the best art work, I had fun and learned a lot during the process. :)
